It wasn't a spontaneous decision. I worked in the real estate sector in German-speaking countries for a long time and at some point realized: The market that's really exciting—with real opportunities for buyers from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland—is on the Turkish coast.
In 2018, my husband Tim and I moved to Turkey. First to Alanya, and now we live in Izmir—right by the harbor, with a view of the sea. I know both sides: I know what it feels like to buy a property in a foreign country without speaking the language, without knowing who you can trust.
That's precisely why Tim and I built Decker Real Estate — as the German-speaking point of contact that we ourselves would have wanted back then.
Tim is the technical and strategic mind behind Decker Real Estate. While I support clients on-site, Tim ensures that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes: digital presence, systems, analysis, and business strategy.
We run the company 50/50 — as a team and as a married couple. This means short lines of communication, joint decisions, and a company that truly functions as a unit. What one of us doesn't know, the other does — and that's exactly what benefits our customers.

Can I, as a German, Austrian or Swiss citizen, buy a property in Turkey?
Yes. Citizens of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are permitted to purchase real estate in Turkey. Choosing the right neighborhood is crucial—some areas are off-limits to foreigners (Ikamet restricted list). We assess the suitability of each property and location individually and in advance.
